I've been getting what I think is too much screen clutter on my 2d. The 998 on my console seems to be pretty normal, but my 788 up front gets terrible. It also gets worse in deeper water, by time in fishing the bridge in 80 ft of water it is useless. Even in completely open water. Here are some pictures.
Here the 998 on clear mode, with sensitivity at 10, looks normal.
Here the 998 on max mode, with the sensitivity at 10, has a lot of clutter near the surface, but seems to be pretty normal still. I believe those could be some fish swimming off the bottom.
Here the 788 on clear mode, with the sensitivity on 10, again doesn't look to bad at this depth. It gets a lot worse when it gets deeper.
Here is the 788 on max mode, with the sensitivity at 10, this is quite a bit of clutter, but you could still make out almost anything. Now take this clutter and multiply it by like 3 when I'm out in deep water.
As for the DI and SI, they are pretty weak once it hits about 40 feet of water. By time I'm in 80 ft of water, I have to crank the sensitivity up just to see the bottom, and then you can't get much out of the picture, no matter how you play with the settings. This could be normal, I've just seen units have incredible picture in deep water.
