Title: Best softwares to 859ci HD DI Combo and 596c HD DI

I am sorry for the bad english but hopefully members understand what I want to know.

I use those sonars mentioned in the topics tittle. I do not have any problems with them, but I would like to know the best software or firmware to both sonars. Like I mentioned, they work superb. So I don't have a serious need to update.

I do not have any equipment's (cannonlink etc) attached to sonar (yet :D). So no need to update due to possible problems with them.

I use the search but I did not find any topics. Can someone link if there is one?

Hello Bob B. 596 has a version 5.250

859 version I will check tomorrow.

Post by: Bob B on August 11, 2016, 01:43:15 PM: I don't know if those models have 6.49 software or not, but in my opinion, that is the best release if you don't have an accessory like the 360 that requires a higher release. If 6.49 is not an option, it would be the highest release number that is lower than 6.49...if that makes sense.

The possible exception to that would be if you ever want to install the cannonlink.....I'm pretty sure Humminbird dropped support for that, but I don't know what the highest release that supports it....Maybe Rickie or someone else will check in that know the answer to that ....Otherwise you might want to call customer service and ask them that question.

And I do not have any accessories.

The 859 (Sonar or DI) did not receive the ping sequence change like the SI units did for the 360 release...so the newest version in your HB account would most likely be fine ...

The 596 would most likely also be fine with the newest version available in your HB account ...

Thanks Rickie, I will update later in the autumn when season is almost over. Now I enjoy fishing and well working HB products.
