998 waypoint from sd card to unit
« on: June 10, 2012, 12:23:21 PM »
I just tried to upload some waypoints I have saved on the latest version of Humminbird PC, they are in a group. I put the card in the slot and turned on the unit nothing. I then pulled the card and put it back in and they loaded. Curious, I remember a thread earlier on this,Greg did you guys find anything out? I have 6.18 in myy 998.

When you updated your software to 6.18, the procedure changed for loading files to your unit. You now have to boot up your unit and then insert the SD card and answer yes in the pop-up box.

Thanks. I uploaded some more waypoints yesterday and went directly to that method. No big deal. Just when you get used to something it changes.  :)

albe is right.  According to the release notes they:
“Disable Nav Data Auto Upload for SD Cards - Navigation Data stored on an SD card will no longer update automatically.”

Wish they would have had a pop up message asking of you wanted to upload the data or not but they opted to make you have to install the memory card after the unit has been powered on.  Simpler this way for the user but it is a change from what we have used for many years now.
