Title: 899 transducer could be used as a 957 transducer ?
Post by: hays47 on February 15, 2014, 10:51:20 PM
Have a friend that needs a transducer for his 957. Thought my 899C might work for him. I know he wont be able to read the 455 frequency but the 200/80 should work I am thinking. Presently he has it set up in bow and wants to be able to move back and forth between console.

Yes it will work hays47.
The Side Imaging transducer that your 899 unit uses has the same 200/83kHz elements inside of it that our standard 200/83kHz DualBeam transducers do and this is what the 957c normally runs on.

Although he will not be able to see Side Imaging sonar per se… have him try changing the Transducer Select menu setting to the “Quad Beam” setting and see what you guys think about it.
