Is the Radar a HB model?
And you need the newer HD series unit 998c SI HD to have radar.

I would think you would hook it up via ethernet and the option should pop up somewhere..

There should be an ethernet connector (round), on the back of your 998c.
I assume your radar module came with a long cable on it.
That cable should hook to the back of your 998c.

You could call Humminbird customer service if you have any problems or questions:

If you did not get a manual for your unit you can go to the HB web site and download a manual. then you can reference the connectors on the back of the unit.
Have not seen any documentation on radar yet but certinly if they send out a plugin it should have an install guide with pictures.
(hopefully)

You're unit may not have the newest software upgrade that recognizes
the radar.

Get yourself an SD card.
If you have not registered your unit, go to the Humminbird Website and do so.

It should show you the most recent software upgrade for your unit.
With the SD card in an SD card reader on your PC, save the update to the SD card.

Turn on your unit with no SD cards in it.
Reset your unit defaults
Put in the card with the upgrade on it.
When the update is done.
Reset your unit defaults.
Shut off the machine.
Put in any map or sd cards for recordings, and turn on the machine.

I would do what ITG said and update the software on your unit.  With everything connected up properly it should show up like any other accessory.

What software does your 998c Si unit have on it now?

I would not do anything until the radar is available and then have a test period to see how it does or does not work.
For a test have a current copy of the softward for your unit.
then load softward that supports the radar.
Test and if problems go back to the working level of software..

If you could post photos or video when your setup will be functional, it would be awesome!
