Switching from 798 to 998
« on: June 05, 2012, 09:02:02 AM »
New to forum!

I have been running a 798ci si on my Ranger 461VS and I just bought a 998 to put at the wheel and move my 798 to the bow.  I do not have room to mount the large transducer on the transom so I am wondering if I can use the 798 transducer for the 998 and what would be the downside to doing this.

Thanks

No 800mhz & IMO the bigger transducer (998s HDSI transducer) gets better 2D.  I can drop shot and watch everything under my boat with my 898s transducer mounted out back but when I go to the bow and use my 798 and CSI transducer I can't see nearly as well when drop shotting what is happening under the boat.  I should of sent my 798s transducer in when it was new for a upgrade to a HDSI transducer...
