Topic: where are pins I drop stored

Wow, this forum hasn't been used for some time.  If anyone is still here maybe someone knows the answer to my question. When I mark a spot on my map where is is stored? Is it in the unit or on the sd cards for the maps? I have several friends whose units have died and I'm starting to see signs and may want to purchase a replacement before it goes and I would hate lose years and years of fishing spots.

Waypoints are stored in the unit internal memory.   

The only way they can be removed from the internal memory is by physically deleting them in the waypoint management Menu under the Nav tab  ...
