They have a new update for the 797c2i on their web site . What all does it do ?

Besides bringing all the updates together I believe it is ethernet fix. Gary

Hi,
The 797 does not have Ethernet capability (never will have that feature - no Ethernet connector). According to the release notes for 5.450, the level fixes Interlink operation w/ other "box's" that have 5.++ levels of software.

According to the FAQ on the Humminbird web site for “5.420”:
 - This release includes several miscellaneous fixes not obvious to the user.     
It also includes:
 - Fixes for Interlink disconnection issues, along with the phantom waypoints issue and added Interlink icons
 - Addition of new start up icons
 - Course over ground fixes
 - Fixes for problems during navigation at at slow speeds
 - Ice Mode fixes
 - Display custom chart menus if custom chart layer is turned on.
 - Safety added to downrigger depth alarm for CannonLink users.
