Available Memory
« on: October 10, 2016, 10:56:39 AM »
Is there a diagnostic screen or some other way to determine how much memory is remaining (i.e. how many more waypoints can I store) on my 1199?

The easiest way I know is to Export all the Waypoints to an SD Card and open them in HBPC ...

Open the Waypoints in HBPC, Select all in the right hand list ...and the total will show at the bottom right of the page ...

Hrmmm...I guess that would work, sort of.  I've got everything organized in folders and subfolders.  I'm sure those use some amount of storage but not sure how many of them I have.  I wonder if a folder is essentially equivalent to a waypoint from a memory consumption perspective?

It sure would be nice if there was someone to look at the memory consumption on the unit in real time.

Thanks,
-jason

I'm not sure either Jason ...

I don't know if the "memory" is a cache type memory that is dictated by how much total data is included ...

Or if the "memory" some how just knows the running total of Waypoints entered ...

You could send Robert a PM and maybe he knows ...he does still check in ...
