HI Guys,
Been using my 997 for several years but always difficult to see the fish while looking at the screen on the boat , back home fish enough to be seen on the SI viewer on my pc...
Now great deals on Helix 12 G1 for 1500 us$, what would you guys recommend, buying that one or go for a smaller Helix 10 Gn2?????
Life's all about choices...
Thanks!

G2 has CHIRP 2d/DI/SI ...
G2N MEGA SI units also have dedicated true DI ...
... Vs ...
G1 only has CHIRP 2d in the HELIX 12 ...
None of the G1 SI units have dedicated true DI ...

thanks Rickie,
can get a helix 12 chirp for 1275 us$...a bargain...vs 1700 for a new mega 10 Helix...
would the bigger screen size help me on the water is the question..also considering using 360 imaging with it.
cheers

The Helix 12 ..... G1 or 2 would be VERY good for viewing 360. If you go Gen 1 you will loose the imaging chirp and dedicated Di element....kinda depends on what is most important to you.

In addition to what Bob mentions above ... The larger screen is of more advantage if your eyes are farther from the screen than arms length ...

to let you guys know the result, I could not resist the 1380 $ for a helix 12 chirp, bought a 360 trolling with it for less than 2200 $ total. Just installing it now and curious for the 360 imaging.
For 360 I thought the bigger the screen the better when casting and looking from a few feet, and though I saw some mega images, the results when the bottom is muddy is quite poor I heard (absorbing the high frequency) and I can see fish also on 455 and 800.
thanks for your replies!
