Title: Another broken MHX XNT transducer mount
Post by: gofission on July 20, 2017, 02:09:41 PM
I'm on MHX XNT mount #4 for my XNT 9 SI 180 T Transducer. They all failed the same way. Fatigue failure, broken across from large notch to notch. (see photos). My boat is a 23 degree deep vee center console. They failed while running at around 20 mph when crossing a boat wake. Clean saltwater, no debris. Hardly a unique situation. Its becoming an annual event.
Is there another mount that will hold this transducer? Maybe stainless steel?
Would a MHX HS mount work? It looks more robust.

There is an optional spring bracket that works with this mount also.

What I would and to find a talented tool and die guy with contacts with a TIG welder  and have him  make you a custom stainless steel mount...there are some bass sites that have custom made stainless steel  transducers brackets  that would fit to solve your problem.
