Title: Upgrade to SI from a 858C??

Hi folks,

If I had a 858C, could it be upgraded to a 898C-SI by the addition of the 3 beam transducer and a software download?  The reason I ask is that I found a pretty good deal on a new 858C and if I can do this it would give me some extra goodies that are included.

I am just guessing that the "innards" of the 858C are the same as the 898C-SI, but that may not be true?

Ron,

Welcome to the forum.  Sorry, but the units are not the same!  There is no way to upgrade it to a SI unit.
