O.K. to power up without gps or transducer.
« on: January 08, 2011, 11:50:38 AM »
Is it o.k.  to power up all of the units using a PC10 cable and without the GPS puck and transducers from the comfort of my sofa. I have a rechargable 12v battery like a gel cell that I can use.

RPJ,

Welcome to the forum.  Yes, it is fine to power up without the GPS or Transducer plugged in.

Good Luck,

Yes, I have two units hooked to a 12V power source in my den.
Use the Simulator to practice with it.

It will be fine unless you have a transducer cable extender plugged in.
If this is the case you could fry (burn up) the transmitter in the unit if you power on without the actual transduvcer attached.....
