I've got a fair bit of experience creating routes in Open Captain (free chartplotter) and then exporting them to an SD card using Humminbird PC. I plug the SD into the unit, power it on and it imports the routes automatically. I di this on 1197C SI's multiple times, but it will not work on my brand new 899CI HD. If I upload a .HWR file could anyone diagnose? Any known issues with this unit?
Thanks in advance.

Try powering on the unit first ... And then insert the SD Card ...
That sequence was changed in a software version some time ago to give users more control of when Nav data was actually uploaded to the unit ...
You should get a green popup when you insert the SD Card that you will need to "Yes" or "No" ...

I can't believe it was that simple, worked like a charm. Thanks again!

This was actually a very beneficial change in the software ...
With the old software ... NAV data was automatically loaded if you happened to mistakenly had a SD Card inserted with Nav data on power up ...
With the new software ... There's actually a green verification popup you must answer before Nav data can be loaded into the unit ...
