The unknown in this situation is if you can make the repair completely waterproof ... (Think liquid tape, and several layers of it) ...
Then it's the decision if shorting out the transmitters by possible water intrusion into the repair is worth saving the $$ of a new xducer ...
Interference intrusion on a repair this close to the TM windings may also be difficult ...
If it's brand new under warranty ... You might call HB and just plead for honest help ...
