Powering down 1198 without main button
« on: November 08, 2016, 06:58:03 AM »
Is there a way in settings to power down my 1198? The power button is a bit quirky at times and would like to bypass it if i could. Thanks

Unfortunately there is no way in the settings to power down the unit ...

The unit goes thru a shutdown procedure just like a computer ... there have been reports of gremlins when powering down the units with any other means than the power button itself ...

Make sure the button is not binding against the bezel ... we've seen reports of this in the past ...

And you can call HB for help ...

I have one I bought used with the same issue and I figured when it gets bad enough I could buy the Bluetooth remote and use it.

Does the remote have a power on/off feature?

Got this back from Humminbird today

"Thank you for contacting Humminbird. We appreciate your interest in our products. The AS RC1 does not control the power of the fish finder, it will only allow you to mark waypoints, zoom in and out, adjust sensitivity and change views."

Doesnt seem right from what i am reading online. thoughts
