Depth finder
« on: April 25, 2014, 09:33:50 AM »
I have bought a 2011 ranger with NB 998 &788 units.  The problem is the 998 unit reads 1.6 on the depth. Any suggestions.

Welcome to the Humminbird Side Imaging Forums Gaylan.

Is this with only the 998 unit running (788 is turned off)?
Where is the transducer(s) for the 998 unit mounted?
Is this only the HDSi transducer or is there a second DualBeam transducer and AS-Si-DB-Y splitter cable being used?
Try testing the 998 unit on the 788 unit’s transducer and see if it reads the correct water depth.

Greg, Ihis is with the only the 989 on. the transducer in the back of the boat not outside.  we tryed a new transducer by just hanging it over the side of the boat and it worked.  The tech  did not know the location of the transducer and was going to contact ranger.  if this does not work I will contact you again.  thanks Gaylan
