Just one question about pins 3 and 4.  If I don't break them off, will they interfere somehow?  And if I really should break them off, what is the best method to do that and avoid damage to the remaining pins?

I don't expect there would be any harm in leaving pins 3 & 4 as long as the ASSY COM leg of the AS YC is left intact ...

Breaking a pin is as easy as bending in one way and then the other ...They will usually break off with the 2rd or 3rd bend ...
