Big Fish Arches
« on: May 20, 2016, 10:37:09 AM »
Some big fish arches. There are plenty of 3ft+ fish here. I once caught a 6ft Gar. I suspect these are Reds, Drums, or Alligator Gars.  This is in the channel in front of Marina's fish cleaning table. Lots of table scraps.

I didn't think about it but I had bunches of dolphin that hung around me all day long. I wish I had though to look on screen.

Sensitivity was a little too high, from earlier in the day.  I was solo and focused on navigating.

Don't know if it is was the latest Onix update with Chirp or the fact that I re-ran and relocated some wiring & dedicated battery, but I'm getting some good shots without much effort. I find that I am adjusting a lot less!

Does Chirp just affect 2D transducer?  Using Chirp, how do you know how big the bottom coverage area is?

I am stumped what the big structure is in the middle of screen. It a looks like a definite hard return. Maybe a pipe or pole that fell from bank that has some debris caught on it.

CHIRP does indeed only affect the 2d ... (SI and DI are still single frequency tone burst) ...

I'm still looking for coverage specs for the CHIRP sweep frequencies ... I don't think the specs have been published ...

That vertical structure seems pretty tall for 26ft of water ...

Went fishing again today and now know what the tall image is. Big sign in the weeds- "Warning Gas Pipeline". Lol.  I guess it is coming off the bank at a pretty good angle. Let's see... I don't know degree of coverage for 175-225 but one edge of coverage must have pinged pipe at 10ft and the other edge must have pinged at 27ft? Picture will fool you, it is definitely not sticking straight up.
