Hi, i'm using my hb998hdsi to record and export data to drdepth and HB pc.
To import the tracks in HBpc I export all wp and tracks to sd card.
The hwr file can be imported in HBpc but the .hit file cannot be imported so no tracks!
Am I doing something wrong?

Please let me know if you have the answer

Hb998 software 6.61

The .HIT extension denotes an iTrack trail, which doesn't contain depth information and is - I think - smaller in capacity than a standard Humminbird trail (which has the extension .HT). So - even if HBPC could import .HIT's, you wouldn't get the information you need to create a map in DrDepth.
I don't have the iLink setup, so I don't know what settings you need to look at on your HB to ensure that you are logging a standard track and not an iTrack. The other option is to log sonar directly to a memory card. This will generate .SON sonar logs which you can then use for your maps.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for your quick reply.
The .hit file is not used for drdepth as you say. The .son file is used for that.

But I tried to backup/export the tracks made with hb to hb oc to store them but the .hit file is not accepted bij hb pc.

As you say that the .hit file is a ipilot track file i maybe have to change a setting in the hb so that it records & export .ht file instead if .hit file.
We use a minnkota with ipilot but it is not connected with the hb as it is not an i-pilot link.
Any idea where i can change this setting in hb998
Thanks in advance.

Leon,
If you just want to store the tracks as backup, then I would just copy them out of the MATRIX folder on the SD card manually, and put them somewhere safe on your harddrive. You can copy them back in the same way. Just make sure, when you do, that you pay attention to the numbering of the files.
I would have thought there would be a PC utility that can handle the iTrack files. Perhaps Greg will chime in?
