Losing depth reading after getting on plane
« on: February 23, 2013, 08:46:07 PM »
Got on the water for the first time today with my 898 Si and had to work through a few bugs. Navionics not working, reloaded SD card after I got home and now it is up and running fine. My main issue was losing my sonor readings after getting on plane. Could this be caused by the angle of the the transducer being off? Could the transducer be set to deep?(1/4" below the step") Everything is fine at slow speed and all the readings look good. This unit is mounted on a Tracker 175.

Thanks,
Gerald

I made an adjustment to the transducer and now the sonor will read while on plane. Has a good signal up to around 30 mph. I moved the transducer down until it cleared the bottom of the hull and put a little tilt in it to macth the hull contour. I still have plenty of adjustment left to fine tune.
I mounted my transducer about 3inches to the left of the drain. I will try to post a pic later.
