« on: August 15, 2012, 08:32:16 AM »
Hi, I need some help what settings I should use when vertical fishing, I want to se my jig and the fisheco.

What settings are you recommending/suggesting? I need some thing to start with :)

Some fact: Freshwater, deep down to 12 m, I have a SI transponder placed on a arm beside my boat.

What exactly does this mean.  How far is your transducer from your boat?

With your boat in the water, and fully loaded, your
transducer should be more or less level with the water.

Try and jig straight down, close to the transducer.

You may have to increase your sensitivity settings.
I would just set them at max.

You should definitely be running the SwitchFire menu on the Max Mode setting.

Try using the Split Screen Sonar View (shows the 83kHz sonar and 200kHz side-by-side) as well.

I find that running the screen in the 2D mode allows you to see your jig pretty well.  I fished for kokanee in Colorado last week and had no issues seeing my jig at 85'.  Kind of looks like an EKG as you jig the line.  I upped the sensitivity a bit, but not much.  Did notice the as guys walked and changed the angle of the transducer that I would loose the jig, but as long as the boat was balanced there was no issue.
