Routes
« on: May 14, 2012, 08:36:35 AM »
I fish a lake that has a lot (15) of brush piles that are long and thin and sometimes have dog legs in them. They are difficult stay on. If I was to make each of these into a route, would all of the routes be visible on the screen? I would not want to navigate to them, just make it easier to stay on them.

A route is usually a path involving multiple Waypoints.
I don't think a route is visible on the screen until you select it.

Waypoints are always visible on the screen.
If these brushpiles are really long, you could make multiple Waypoints for each one, maybe 3
for each brushpile.

? will denote each brushpile number:
You could name the top of the brush pile Waypoints with a "T" like WP?T, the middle with a "M", like WP?M, and the bottom with a "B", like WP?B.

ITG is right: Routes will not show up unless you are actively trying to navigate one.
Use either multiple waypoints or make a Trackplot over each brush pile.  Tracks are visible all of the time (if you set them so).

Thanks, that is what I thought. I had an old hand held GPS that had routes visible all the time making it very easy to follow the brush piles.
