ALL SI Models - SI automatic scroll speed
« on: March 02, 2011, 12:39:28 AM »
Model:
ALL SI Models
Suggested Upgrade:
SI automatic scroll speed
Explanation:
For the best image quality, it is said that you should set your scroll speed of the SI screen to the speed at which you're trolling (scroll speed set to  5 or 6 if you're trolling at 5 mph).  It would be nice to have an "SI auto scroll speed" setting that is tied to your boat speed.  I find myself constantly having to change scroll speeds depending on whether I'm trolling with or against the wind.  Anyone else run into this issue?

Absolutely, this feature has been requested for several years now.  I think there should be an auto feature with the ability to manually set it.

Sometimes you would want to keep more data/history on the screen, so the ability to manually set would still be needed.

Agreed.  To have both manual and auto capabilities would be ideal.

Too speedy I believe. If you set to 6 at 5mph your screen will be strecht a lot, you don't see nothing.

That's what I noticied:

0 to 2 m/h=speed 1
2 à 4 m/h= speed 2
4 à 8 m/h= speed 3
To 11 m/h= speed 4
To 20 m/h= speed 5
To 27 m/h= speed 6
To 33 m/h= speed 7
To 40 m/h= speed 8
