Title: 360 with Solix & ice fishing
Post by: Ahvena on March 10, 2018, 06:41:49 AM
Hello,

does  somebody have any experience using 360 transducer connected to Solix without the "standard" si transducer.

Just wondering how to setup 360 to 6" hole in ice.  Would be quite easy with 360 only. Manual says that temperature and depth will not be available with 360, but I don't know it those are mandatory to get 360 to work in this ice fishing case.

360 needs a 2d source for digital depth calculation  ...

Thank you for the reply. So this will become a bit more complicated setup for ice fishing. :)

Can you Drill 2 holes  ...??

It's not necessary that 360 and the 2d source be in the same hole  ...

Yes, that would make things easier.

And I have heard that physical exercise is also healthy. :)

There is no need ford 2D, i used it without this. It gives only depth , in numbers on screen. You can undestand how deep it is on 360 screen, look at range rings... and you can approximately find out how deep it is.

Good to know, Jaak! I succeeded to have both transducers in the same ice hole at the end, but the installation was a bit messy with all cables etc. Would be much simple with only 360, thanks!

Just wondering, the SI systems use the 2D channel to adjust ping rate in the SI channels. SI without 2D works, but at the slowest rate in the system, which means very bad performance. What about the 360 system, does it work independent of 2D info or does it need depth from 2D to ping at optimal rate?

HB has not confirmed Rickard  ... but the forums indicate 2d is only for displaying 2d digital depth on the 360 image  ...

I don't have 360 (yet) to see if I can detect a difference  ...

I will check my new 360 next time I am on the water.  Should be able to just shut down the 2D and see what happens.  Probably won't be this coming week as the storm moving into the gulf is going to give us a lot of rain.  Don
