Title: humminbird keeps freezing

every time I put my SD card in my unit freezes and doesn't  work. iam going to buy a new one any advice on what one i should get. heres one iam looking at Sandisk Extreme SDHC 16GB Class 10 UHS U3 Memory Card, Up to 90MB/s Read Speed

That card should work ...

When you say freezes ... Does that mean the screen goes blank ...??

Go under the Views tab and make the GPS diagnostics view Visible ...

Then exit out of the menus and cycle thru the views until you see the GPS diagnostic screen ...

Watch the 2 boxes in the lower right as you insert the SD Card and see if the unit is recognizing the SD Card before the unit freezes ...

BTW ...weird things happen in these units when the power supply is intermittent or too low from a bad battery or insufficient size wiring ...

Ya when I would power it up if would freeze. I would have to pull the cord to get it to shut off. I called the 1800 # and eventually she had me remove both my cards and then it worked but the second I put the sd card in it would freeze. I put the lake master chip back in and works. I'll try this new card.

This still sounds like a possible power related issue ...

Have you load tested the battery ... ?? All connections clean and tight ... ??

I bought 3 brand new batteries and it still did it. Connections are good. I'll let u know if a different chip works

You might format the card ...

And make sure the format is set to FAT32 ...

I'm not versed in what the FAT means ...but I do remember Greg mentioning the format must be in FAT32 ...
