Title: where to mount my 899 si

Hey guys I just purchased a 899 si/di hd combo. I currently have a 798ci in my boat. Can these two be networked together? Also, cannot decide where to mount my 899 transducer. What are most guys doing? I am thinking of putting the 899 at the helm and moving the 798 to the bow. Thoughts?? Thanks in advance

Unless the 798 is the HD version .... you won't be able network them since the early model of the 798 didn't have Ethernet capabilities.

The general rule is to put the larger unit at the bow where you will be further away from it.
