Title: Transducer problem
Post by: bnoe12 on February 02, 2016, 10:11:25 PM
I bought a 898 5 months ago . I installed transducer where my last 2 was at and I never had a problem with them. I installed this transducer and the 3rd time out the bracket broke that holds the transducer on. I got on-line and bought another one. 2 weeks later while running across the lake I heard a noise so I stopped my partner checked the transducer to make sure the bracket didn't break again and sure enough it broke again. Not only did it break but it got to my prop and cut it off. So now not only am I going to half to buy a different bracket I have to buy another transducer. What are yall's opinion on a bracket. And I know hummingbird probably wont cover the transducer.

I've read many reports of the XNT plastic brackets breaking (700 series and smaller units)  ...but this is the 1st report I've read of the HDSI bracket breaking ...

Anyway ...Transducer Shield and Saver makes very good bracket/xducer protectors ...

I don't have my side imaging transducer in the water while I'm running. As you can see it g see ts expensive if it gets knocked off. My triton has a step in transom and I have it mounted on the transom above the step.
