Title: cable management for SI on trolling motor

I recently order a new Onyx for my console and would like to move my 1197 to front deck. I have a Motor Guide xi5 which slides into place. This will result in a lot of slack cable and potential for twisting around shaft. Has anyone resolved this issue with Motor Guide or Minn Kota motors?

On my Minnkota terrova there is a groove in the shaft I ran the cable trough. I don't know about the motor guid

Some are using a coiled air hose for cable management on a Motor Guide ...

The air hose is a good idea. The Yahoo site appears to no longer exist so I can't view the pictures.
