Hi All :) this is my first post on this awesome site! Heaps of great info available.
I've just completed a software update for the latest release for 1197 and halfway through the update my SD card decided to pop out! Must have not plugged it back in properly, the problem is that it is locked up on the loading screen and stays there,I don't have a lead to my PC so I've tried the bootstrap mode with an SD card with no luck, is this possible? Or will I need to order a lead from humminbird? Will I have to send the unit back to get repaired or have most people had good luck with bootstrap themselves?

Hi again, the pc connect cable rocked up and the bootstrap upload worked :)
At first it would not even recognise the unit on the PC!? The unit was a brick, after about 10 goes the unit started to come up on the PC screen remain there with just enough time to go to the update step in the file menu tab then drop off, I relised after a few attempts that even though the unit dropped off the screen you can still jog through the update wizard steps just don't send unit lol the unit boots up again in the bootstrap mode then hit send.
Not sure if anybody has had the issue with the unit only temporarily connecting then dropping off into the program fail on the unit before? And the only update it would take up was the latest 6.60!? That happend to be the upload I was using when the unit failed the first time.
Time to hit the water again!
