Title: Recover Humminbird SON or DAT file to CSV file ?
Post by: jamesunique on June 13, 2013, 10:46:50 AM
Hello all,

I've just returned from surveying to discover a couple of corrupted recordings which will have occurred when I lost power out on the water.

The recordings appear to be ok when playing back on the Humminbird 898c si, but no file name is shown for the recording. When attempting to import the files using Humviewer, the import never completes, the same applies to other converters but the file WILL open in DrDepth (R.I.P.) however I really need to export the raw data in 1sec intervals including a timestamp. DrDepth's CSV export doesn't seem to include timestamps.

Is there a quick fix to sort out this problem or some software that will re-package or allow access to the corrupt data ?

All advice greatly appreciated.

Hi James,
If you want to put the files up somewhere (eg Dropbox - zip the files first to save bandwidth) and send me a link by pm, I can take a look for you.
Matt

Thanks Matt - I've pm'd you with a link to the files. They're on my own server's file storage system. :)
