Title: New owner of a 798CI HD SI --2 questions
Post by: chipb43 on June 05, 2012, 03:39:55 PM
2nd day out with new unit and noticed that my images now have this distortion to the left side. I don't remember seeing it the first time out. Anyone tell me what I'm seeing? Pic is from my phone as I don't have a SD card yet which brings me to my second question. What size SD card do I need to purchase?

Thanks all for the help.
Chip

Chip, other have seen this very same picture.
I am thinking that it is a left side transducer problem in that it seems to be the signal is hitting a surface object. Could be the boat hull or a motor or a jackplate or something on that side.
Try lowering your transducer in the water if possible.

The SD card brand most users are happy with is SanDisk.
A 4 or 8 GB should be enough. Either a Ultra or Extreme.
If you are going to do more recording, I would lean toward the 8 GB.
