Title: 1198/898 sonar on plane
Post by: edwardpic on June 05, 2011, 01:05:58 PM
22ft Center console, Yamaha 150, 898c sharing sonar through Ethernet to 1198c

My boat running on plane and under power still reads sonar up to approximately 28MPH. Ive seen a couple posts of problems with being able to read the depth under power or above a certain speed. I have to say that I am happy my set-up works. I guess I got lucky with the position-height and installation of my Transducer. Ther was no template for mounting in the boxes for either unit, After a quick glance at the PDF it was installed. I also do not have a huge rooster problem coimg from the transducer under full power, Ive seen a couple comments about water splashing onto the motor cowling. Glad I got lucky with the install. Unfortunately I have an extra thru hull SI ducer in a box thats not needed, and with the Ethernet connection, the interlink I bought never was installed either. Guess its better to have extra parts then ones that do not work.

Just thought I'd share
