360 Imaging to Onix 10 SI

Just received new Onix. Installed it the transducer and a brand new 360 imaging transom mount.

Hummingbird doesn't send the NMEA Y Splitter with the 360 imaging you need to hook up the heading/GPS puck to the Onix. I did hook up the Ethernet and power and I don't seem to be getting any recognition of the Onix being able to talk to the 360. I can run the pod up and down manually using the buttons atop the 360, so I assume power is fine.

Do I really have to have the puck hooked up via NMEA to network through ethernet with my 360?

No.  Check to make sure you have the correct software for the 360 installed.  If so call CS and they can help you out.

How do I check software? I can't view any information because its not found. Lol I have a part number and serial number...

If it recognizes the 360 you can go to network and see what version you have.  If not I would go to the HB site and download the 360 software.  Turn unit on and put the card in.  Go to home  screen and on bottom row go to files.  If the software needs updating it will show up on that page. Is your unit a NT version or crosstouch?

Cross touch. I did as you have said. It recognizes the card, but it just says "accessories" with no update below it to choose to update.

Assuming you downloaded the ONIX 360 software.  Do you have a spare ethernet cable you could test on the unit?  Does the ONIX recognize your link?  You may have to bubble this one up to CS.  Make sure you tell them the trouble shooting steps you took prior to calling.  I had a similar thing with my NT unit which was software related.  They fixed me up.  I never had the problem with my crosstouch unit.  Sorry I could not help more.

Just wanted to say thanks for the help. I haven't yet got it resolved. But I ate some humble pie and called support. Gal named Erica troubleshot the issue with me.

What they determined is the ethernet driver for the 360 software inside my new model is probably set for a legacy unit (700-1100). That's why I couldn't see it on the network. They sent me new software that should patch the issue so I can see the 360 and get it updated.

I'll comment back this evening once I've had a chance to update using that software.

So the software fixed the issue of not being able to see the 350. But it says I'm on very. 9.999 and doesn't have a serial number through the onix.

Any ideas?

Continued to play.
Found out that if I updated with the patch firmware after 4-5 minutes 360 source would become not found.
If I unplugged power on the 360 give it 30 seconds or so and plugged it back in then hit the deploy / retract buttons, 360 source would then be found and again and "use able" although my picture isn't anything like the screenshots I've seen others post.

After I was able to somewhat view it on the network, I tried to update it to the latest version and it would fail install every time I tried.

Looks like another call to support...  :-\

Are you using the proper Ethernet switch? The older ones are known to cause issues with the Onyx unit.

Called support again. I suppose this issue has been seen before. My five day old 360 has to be sent in for repair.

I'll be glad to get it back working 100% properly with no more headache.

Everyone I've dealt with in support has been super. Electronics can be fustrating, glad these folks have the time and patience to talk me through it.

360 unit has arrived back from repair. I've installed it back on the boat and everything is working great. Very fortunate to have that resolved. It did seem to take them a little while, but I'm sure they are busy busy.


Now, to hook up my Minn kota terrova with iPilot... Wish me luck, I'm starting with software first.
