Screen protectors
« on: December 06, 2015, 09:15:21 PM »
I was wondering if anyone uses a peel and stick screen protector on their unit like you can get for your cell phones.  It would seem to make scents to me to keep your screen like new and not scratched up.  If you have done this, how did it work for you and what did you use?

A lot of people have tried them, but posts I have seen, the results are mixed.

Just make sure you use the cleaner recommended by Humminbird and the screen coating will stay in good condition for a LONG time .....  http://www.amazon.com/Windex-Multi-Surface-Cleaner-Vinegar-Ounce/dp/B00U5MWNJE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1449455647&sr=8-2&keywords=windex+multi+surface+with+vinegar
Using other cleaners can damage the screen and so can overspray from bug repellent or sunscreen.
**Looking for the one that makes it all worthwhile**

I tried the Zagg protectors...twice...too sticky ...made installation not so easy...expensive
ZAGG | invisibleSHIELD | Leather, Cases, Screen Protectors, Covers, Shields, Skins, Invisible Shield

I tried Screenpatronus ...3 years....good protector ...easy to install...degrades viewability/brightness of the screen (especially non LED backlit screens)... cheaper..

I tried NuShield DayVue...good protector ...easy to install... doesn't degrade brightness of screen but is very reflective ...showing my own reflection in the screen ... Midpriced ...
NuShield

Now I use NO screen protector and just clean it more often thru the day with the HB recommended Windex Multisurface with vinegar ...

I use the Lexerd true vue anti-glare protector.
It cuts down on glare.
It's tricky to install it without any air bubbles underneath.
It's easy to remove.

My experience is similar to Rickies. I never put one on that I could see as well as without. If you use the vinegar cleaner and a microfiber cloth it is  a 10 second job. Bob
