Title: Tranducer Mounting and SI on LUND with Kicker Motor
Post by: Peak Chaser on February 27, 2011, 12:01:18 PM
Hello HB Group,
Looking for any input on this type of setup.
I have a Lund with a kicker on one side.  Will this prevent the SI from working?  Any pics on installs would be great.
Thanks.. still ice fishing :(

Peak Chaser,

Welcome tot he forum.  It would be best if you could post some pictures of your transom area with the kicker up and down.  Give us some picts from the side and from the rear straight on.

I think it will be fine, just a matter of where the kicker is and will it interfere.

Robert

Robert is right; I have seen boats with kicker motors that had no blockage and others that did.  It all comes down to just how close the lower unit on the kicker motor, and the main motor, are to the transom of the boat.  For the larger HDSi transducers for the 898, 997, 998, 1197 and 1198 units we recommend seven inches of clearance.  For the smaller Compact Side Imaging (CSi) transducers of the 797 and 798 units we recommend five inches of clearance between the transom and motor(s).
