Title: Upgraded to Helix 12 Gn3 Si
Post by: jjbch on December 11, 2019, 03:32:12 PM
Upgraded from 998SI to Helix 12 Gen3 SI.  Will my glassed in xdm 9 20 t transducer work with the helix for 2d sonar when running on plane as with the 998, or do I need to get a different transducer?

Thank you

The 2d xducer in your bilge is 200kHz/83kHz  ... it can be used with your G3N but you will have to set the Connected Transducer selection under the Sonar tab to Hi Def SI to force the unit to transmit 200kHz/83kHz 2d  ...  (which defeats the purpose of having a G3N unit with MEGA+ and HW Low Q 2d Sonar  ...

It’s best to replace the bilge xducer with the XP 9 HW to get the full functionality of the G3N unit  ...

Good point  ... I forgot to mention the newer model Y cable than was used with your 998  ...

Here is a link to the newer 9 M SIDB Y cable for those following this thread  ...
