Title: Spatial accuracy of GPS on 797 unit
Post by: USFDave on April 27, 2011, 03:49:11 PM
Hello all, new to the forum, but been reading for a while.

I have a question regarding the spatial accuracy of the GPS in the unit. It seems to be off a bit (I dont recall driving over the corner of an island).

A bit of background, I am using the side scan in shallow (1-5ft) salt water here in tampa Bay to image propeller scars in seagrass beds. I am using both Humviewer and Dr.Depth to review and export my recorded data and conducting data analysis and mapping in ESRI ArcGIS.

FSUDave; Reenter in ArcGIS, ck for GPS offset, if found reset to "0".

Let us know what you find. Good luck and enjoy.  Roddy

Check to be sure that the unit is Set to WGS84.

I had accuracy problems if set to other format
