Title: Ethernet and NMEA
Post by: Rüdiger on September 11, 2011, 06:25:00 AM
Hi specialists

Is it possible to use Ethernet-out and NMEA-out on the same time ?
I have test it and it does not work.

Rudiger,

I have not tried it, but you should be able to use the raw NMEA coming off the GPS vs the NMEA out from the unit.  You just wont have the depth string.

Check your pigtail connections and see if you have the new GR50.  There was a post a few weeks ago that talked about this.  I will try to find it.

Thanks Robert

Yes i have the GR50 receiver and normally i use the HB-ethernetfunktion for DrDepth and the NMEA-output from my EAGLE unit for real depth and position information for my navigation software.
It was only a test to use the NMEA-output via AS PC2 cable and it does not work.

There is a new pigtail configuration in the NEWER GR50s that came out this year!
