Advice if you're trying to buy an 1198c SI - Heads Up
« on: March 29, 2014, 09:39:56 PM »
I have been looking extremely hard for one, and this is what I have found.
There are a few left out there, but they are going really fast.

If you fish in the U.S. you DO NOT want the International version.
The way I understand it, that version only has a vague world map.
It does not have the CountourXD maps installed with 3,000 lakes.

Some of these units are being advertised as 1198c SI, but are really 1198cx SI.
I already had to return one.
If you want to buy one, then ask the seller 3 questions about what is written on the box:
If it says '1198cx' or '407990-1M', then it's an International version.
If it doesn't say either of those, then it should say  'CountourXD maps' on the box.

Good luck if you're looking
