1197c SI and iPilot Link
« on: November 13, 2012, 03:08:29 PM »
Has there been a definitive answer as to whether an 1197c SI and iPilot Link are compatible?  Minn Kota still lists the 1197c SI as a compatible unit.

What are you meaning by “definitive answer” ET?

If the Minn Kota Engineers say that the 1197c Si is compatible than it should be.  I’m guessing that they have looked at the communications specs of this unit and saw that it would work, otherwise it would not be listed.

If you are looking for someone who has used an 1197c Si unit with an iPilot Link, I don’t think that you will find them; at least not yet as the iPilot Link has not been released to the public yet.  The Minn Kota web site still shows: “Available:  December 2012”.

Maybe you are confusing the I-pilot and 360 imaging. I beleive i read that the 360 is not compatible with the 1197.

I could be wrong, but I think the 1197 will drive the Link.  I dont know if the processor speed between a 97 and 98 is the same, but it takes alot of processor speed to run the Lakemaster cards.  I know my 997 struggles..... so much that I upgraded to a 1198 and a 1197. The 1198 ran the Link Lakemaster just fine today.. Ill try the 97 tomorrow.
Hate to see her go, but love to watch her leave.

The 1198 is supposed to have a faster/more
powerful processor than the 1197.

As of now, the 360 will not work with
an 1197.
