Title: TS3 or TS2W switch

OK......Now I have an issue. The switch that allows you to go between two transducers is not available. I called tech suppport and they said the TS2W has been removed from the market. The replacement switch (TS3) is not available until the end of June. So what do we do now for the switch?????. Why announce something you dont have???? I think marketing needs some retraining... >:(... >:(... :-\ Chuck......

I wanted that same switch for my set up...I agree why wait so long to release an item...its been on the site for a couple months now

I did a search for the TS2 W switch and found it on several sites from $75 to $100. Even though they state it is in stock when you place the order they may state it is out of stock. I have two installed on my boat for 3 transducers and I do not recall them costing that much. Wonder why HB is changing the switch mine have worked well for the past year.

I just checked, the one I have has a connector cut off. :( It is the one that goes to the mount.

Yes, it is time. We need to find the manufacture of the cable ends and order some for our use. humminbird wont sell us the cable and connectors.. Since mine is portable I wanted to be able to just plug and go.. I still cant believe they (HB) took one switch off the market and do not have a replacement in stock as yet... I also checked the internet and as stated most now show out of stock if you try to place an order... Also the price is outrageous. $81.00 plus shipping for a $5 switch and $10 for cable connector.. Roddy , you are right.. maybe it is time to unretire... ::) Chuck

My bet is that there has been some sort of mfg issue, part supply, etc, that is holding up the new switches. I am sure the plan wasn't to have a gap, or maybe some hb employee has a garage stockpile and plans to Ebay sell at $150 each. :D
The older switches only have 5 wires and only switch 5 pins. A guess would be the new ones support all 7 pins. Maybe the di units use one of those pins? Maybe its to prep for new 2012 transducers that have dedicated di and si? (that's 100% speculation) Otherwise, it looks like it is just a toggle to rocker change, with panel mount clips.
If you want that switch just pm me your address, but you will have to splice in a connector. The connector was scavenged to fix a HDSI transducer, otherwise I don't think it was ever used.

I agree, there should have been a smooth transition from older to the new switch. I did try and order the older switch and like was said, when you checkout it says out of stock. Saw a couple on Ebay but they were expensive. I would wonder if Mouser or Digikey would have the connectors-pins and switch. I have reverse engineered items for my company and found those sites awesome for buying material. Would be nice if the HB units networked like other manufacturers with a central network connection for all external options and are accessible on all units on the network. Yes I know HB has ethernet on the newer units, but it is not the same. Just my opinion and I have a 898c SI and the 1198c SI....

I'm just remembering this warnings saying that switching that switch while no xducer is connected might damage your unit. I would be verry carefully building your own.

The warning comes from the units that have put in an extender cable for the transducers from the unit. If you have the extender cable it is advised not to power on the unit or remove the transducer cable itsself with power on as the extender cable can burnout the transmitter in the unit if the transducer is not there... If you do not have the extender cable then it will be fine... Kind of like having the unit in the garage without the transducer.
So now I am curious that if you use an extender cable can you switch without a power problem to the transmitter.
Hmmmmmm,,,, I guess this will have to go to HB eng. Dont know if the help desk has this knowledge..I will call them on monday.... Chuck

It would be nice though to have access to the connectors that HB uses...
