Title: Editing waypoints
Post by: G4bama on June 02, 2013, 06:12:56 PM
So I can use this program to name and assign different Icons to my waypoints that I have saved on my 898 unit? I just need to export my waypoints to an SD card and look at them using this program? I know that this can be done on the unit itself but it is time consuming.

Yes.  IMO, using HBPC is much easier than all the key-punching required on the unit.

Hint:  To change a number of waypoint icons at the same time.

Select all the waypoints to change using Left-Click with Shift-key and/or Ctrl-key.
Then Right-click in the Icon column, select change icon, then pick icon.

Copy&paste, cut&paste functions are useful inside a GPX file or from GPX file to another GPX file.
Do not create duplicates within a GPX file.

I figured that, I just wanted to ask before hand to verify that you could do that type of editing. I just didn't want to download programs that didn't do what I needed because there seems to be a lot of problems with hummingbird software and upgrades. I haven't made up my mind if these software issues that people have are caused by user or programming errors.
