Transducer prob on 787c2
« on: April 24, 2011, 07:33:14 AM »
Hi from Australia
I hope some one on this site can advise me please.
I have a 787c2 and damaged and lost my transducer last weekend (tree stump). A friend gave me a new XNT 9 20T transducer which according to the info on the box, should be compatible, and like my old transducer it has a 3 pin plug and also a small metal temp sender on the bottom of the transducer. However after connecting the transducer to my 787c2 I notice the temp is not working any more. On the System Status - Accessory Test page it states Temperature is unconnected. On the Set Up menu it lets me choose between C & F but I've looked through the Select Readouts menu and it doesn't seem to have an option to let me display the temp anywhere on the screen. I haven't tried it on the water yet but I'm sure the unit used to display temp out of the water with the old transducer, but as I said I can't seem to bring up the temp display anyway. Is this new transducer fully compatible with my 787c? or am I doing something wrong? thanks.
