Title: Which Y-Cable for these two transducers?

I have the 798CI HD SI COMBO with the stock XNT 9 SI 180T transducer and I purchased the QuadraBeam transducer, model no. XNT 90 QB 90.

Would like to install both transducers and switch between them real time (for those that care, FISH ID feature works great using QuadraBeam transducer).  I've done some research, but would like to verify this cable will work for what I'm trying to accomplish (description from Humm web site)? 

     AS SIDB Y | Cables | 720055-1   Y Cable - Side Imaging and Dual Beam - allows you to use two transducers on one unit without the use of a transducer switch.  For use with Side Imaging products only, in conjunction with a dual beam transducer only.

The AS SIDB Y cable is a splitter cable that disconnects the wire channel going to the 2d piezo in the XNT 9 SI 180 T...and instead connects the wire channel going to the Dual Beam 2d piezo...

The unit "sees" this setup as one xducer because the AS SIDB Y cable is basically just re-routing wire channels to certain piezoes...(so you would get DI/SI views from the SI piezoes in the XNT 9 SI 180 T, and 2d views from the 2d piezo in the Quad Beam xducer)...

The Quad Beam xducer can be used in this setup with the AS SIDB Y cable ...but only the 2d piezo in the Quad Beam xducer will have wire channels connected...(the outbound 455kHz oval shaped beams would not be connected)...

Another option would be to connect the XNT 9 SI 180 T and the Quad Beam xducer to a HB TS3 switch ....

This would allow you to choose one xducer or the other...

The Transducer Select menu would need to be set to "Quad Beam" to allow the unit to show the Quad Beam views in the views Rolodex...

And there would be no DI/SI imaging views while the "Transducer Select" menu is set to the "Quad Beam" selection....

Thanks guys -- very informative response and redirection on how to use both SI and QB transducers.

Was fishing Henrys Lake in Idaho that has average depth of only 8-15'.  QB transducer was great at finding big trout in such shallow water (wife loved hearing those beeps), but SI helped find "gaps" in the weed beds to fish.  If I can switch transducers at will, it will be a killer combination.
