Title: Purchased boat has thru hull transducer...Questions
Post by: JKWho on June 13, 2015, 03:14:05 PM
I recently purchased my first boat, as I do with all my toys I broke the boat down in order to get a feel for the entire situation I got myself into. I am running a 998 HD on the console and a 798 HD on the bow that are linked together. I was cleaning the battery compartment and found out I have a in  hull transducer with temp probe installed. I am wondering if it is worthwhile to hook it up to my 998 with a Y cable. Unfortunately I can get the boat on the water due to all the nearby lakes being closed (Texas, lots of rain). Is there a way to test it out of water to see if it even works? I understand these are used sometimes for high speed readings so I figure since it is already on the boat I might as well look into connecting it. Is there a way to tell which model transducer it is?

Any help would be awesome...

Thanks in advance

No way to check out of the water. There should be a label near the plug(12" or so from the plug. The "Y" connector will be between the transducer connection and the unit.It is about 12" long . Bob
