Linking 3 units
« on: February 19, 2017, 06:19:56 PM »
I have a 899 and 859 link together via eithernet  now. I am wanting to add a 3rd unit mainly for gps navigation  at the console so I can have 2 full screens instead of running split screen on 1 unit.  So I would be able to see more detail on each unit.
My thoughts where to add another 859  head unit and run it off  the 899  transducer via eithernet.
can I link all 3 units together this way? for saving my way points? What would be needed to do this?

You will need a 5 port Ethernet switch .... and will connect all units to it.   http://www.humminbird.com/Products/AS-ETH-5PXG/

Best way to back up waypoint is to export nav data to a 35Gb or less SD card and bring them into Humminbird PC

For connecting two single xx9 series units you will need an AS EC QDE adapter for each unit (2 total)  ...

(Note: the AS EC QDE cables are ~ 1ft long)  ...

And you will need an Ethernet cable (1 total) long enough to reach  ...
