Looking for advice & feedback on my plans for transducer install. After spending way to much time trying to figure out the smartest way to go at this and looking at many web resources, I'm pretty confident that the two transducer system will work the best.
I would plan on installing the through hull puck for high speed and the SI dual beam on the transom just below the motor mount off to the right at the semi flat portion of the V hull. From the install pictures I've seen on this site and other sites with similar stepped hulls both Rangers and other similar fiberglass boats this seems the to make the most sense. My question relates to the actual measurements of clearance right and left and also behind the transducer to the back of my outboard. The only reference on measurement has been a 15" reference recommendation right and left, what about the distance away from the lower unit? Will this placement of my SI transducer be catching image or interference with the lower unit? Is there a specific distance in inches? With this placement my outboard lower unit ends up being 8 to 9 inches behind the transducer and 12 inches off to the left. Any help or insights here would be appreciated.
