Title: gps puck with heading sensor
Post by: beertech on April 13, 2014, 08:25:48 AM
How do theses have to be installed.  Is there a certain direction these have to be pointed.  reason i ask is i just bought a 1198 that i am going to swap between two boats.  I was going to put the gps on a gps puck adapter plate. So if it is permanantly mounted and i have it mounted pointing forward on one boat and sideways on a tiller boat is is going to be pointed wrong on one of them

The AS GPS HS antenna has an "orientation arrow" on the puck that indicates which way to mount the puck...

I think there is an offset menu of -30° - 30°+ to calibrate the puck to adjust it...

The one pointing to the side will be way wrong. It is a compass inside.(60 degrees wrong even with the correction)
