Matrix 77c cut out problem
« on: June 26, 2012, 04:30:57 PM »
Recently purchased a used boat with Matrix 77c installed. Works fine for about 15 minutes, then shows nonsense such as 685 ft water when only 20 ft actual. Water temp, speed, still work fine. Shut off the unit, wait 10 minutes, start again...works ok then depth stops. Have tried to make adjustments, but still no luck. Any suggestions for a guy new to these devices. Thanks

Did you ask the person you bought the boat from if he had this problem..
Installation can be a problem, interference or the unit failure also...

Find out where the transducer is installed.

See if you can find someone else that has a Humminbird unit on their boat and test your Matrix 77c on their boat to see if it works correctly or not.  It does not have to be another Matrix 77c unit as most use the same 200kHz 2D sonar (even the Side Imaging units), just avoid the newer DI units.
